although women may be physically inferior to men, our voices, ideas, and belifs are stronger than the government's denial!

in 1919, Texas became the 9th state to allow the 19th amendment which granted women the right to vote! in 1920, the 19th was finally added to the U.S. constitution!
in Texas, governor William Hobby made a deal with suffragists: if women campaigned for Hobby and prohibition, he would grant women's suffrage. in , women could vote in primary elections after campaigning for Hobby. Hobby ended up winning governship.
some suffrage clubs like Women's Christian Temprance Union, fought for more than just equality and the right to vote, they also fought for prohibition or the banning of alchohol.
the beginning of feminism: women started taking more of an active role in reform in the Progressive Era because women got jobs in offices and factories, children had more school(notas much babysitting), not as big families, and new technology made housework much easier.
club women sought to help the economy by planting trees, building hospitals, settlement houses, and improving womens' education and school reforms.

women do so much, isnt it fair to give us the right to vote? what happened to the 1st amendment? freedom of speech!
